Joshua D. Allard

Artistic Associate

Joshua D. Allard became involved with Piccolo Theatre in 2003 after attending Valparaiso University with most of the current ensemble members.

He was with the ensemble between 2004 until 2007, when he toured the U.S. for five months as the Wardrobe/Props ATD for an Equity TYA production from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

His design work with Piccolo consists of 20 projects and productions over the past 8 years, including The Real Inspector Hound/After Magritte, Sinbad, Rosencrantz & Gildenstern Are Dead, Rough Crossing, and Servant of Two Masters.

Joshua has designed over 70 productions with over 20 companies in Chicago since 2003, including Lookingglass Theatre, Eclipse Theatre, Caffeine Theatre, Chicago Tap Theatre, and Chicago Opera Vanguard. He has also served as a choreographer and movement practitioner at Roosevelt University, Millennium Chamber Players and Piccolo Theatre.

His other interests include coffee, eating, puzzles, and movies. Joshua is blessed to find an artistic family and home in Piccolo Theatre at the Evanston Arts Depot, and looks forward to future collaboration, growth, and success!
